Jim Carrey is the "Six Million Dollar Man"

Oct 22, 2003 - Dimension Films announced they're ready to get into the "The Six Million Dollar Man" business. According to a statement from the studio, "The Six Million Dollar Man" has been put on the 'fast track' with actor/comedian Jim Carrey ready to take on the role Lee Majors made famous in the 1970s on the hit TV series. Writer/director Todd Phillips ("Road Trip," "Old School") is onboard the project.

Commenting on Phillips and Carrey, Dimension Films Co-Chairman Bob Weinstein stated, "The teaming of Jim and Todd is the perfect creative combination to launch the 'Six Million Dollar Man' franchise. Todd is a director with proven instincts and Jim is a superstar."

Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin, and Scott Faye will produce "The Six Million Dollar Man."

"The Six Million Dollar Man" Official Synopsis

"The Six Million Dollar Man" will be based on the popular 70's TV show. The show, which starred Lee Majors as Astronaut Colonel Steve Austin, followed the adventures of government agent who was half man, half machine as he solved crimes across the globe. The show was based on the novel "CYBORG: A NOVEL" by Martin Caidin.
