Nov 7, 2007 - Oscar-winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind) has been chosen to star with Keanu Reeves in the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, a Fox Studio project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Connelly will play Helen, the scientist who makes first contact with Keanu’s character. Keanu plays the alien Klaatu who delivers the message: 'Live in peace or be destroyed.'
The script is by David Scarpa, produced by Erwin Stoff and directed by Scott Derrickson. Production is to be held in Vancouver in December 2007.
Connelly was last seen in Reservation Road alongside Mark Ruffalo and Joaquin Phoenix. The actress is currently at work on the comedy movie, He's Just Not That Into You.
