INTERVIEW WITH JASON ISAACS:
I heard you're going to be in Elektra.
Yes, I am. Oh no, no Im not. I dont know if Im allowed to say that. I might be. Im not sure.
Okay, you said, Yes.
I was there for a while.
Whats your part?
Its called uncredited. Its an uncredited part meaning you dont get to take any credit for it (laughing).
Isnt it funny how things get out on the Internet so quickly?
(Laughing) I dont know how the news gets out. Im at the beginning of it. Im Elektras last job before the story kicks off.
So you die fairly soon into the movie?
If it was a Bond movie, Id be the guy that Bond deals with before the titles done.
What was your time like on the set?
I was just there for a couple of days. It was fantastic. I was totally intimidated by Jennifer [Garner]. Shes incredibly fit and strong and supple and she has all these kind of martial arts and weapons skills. And then theres me just eating the donuts (laughing).
Is that really what you were doing?
Yeah, hoping I could get away with it and pretend.
Do you die a quick death?
I cant tell you too much about it because Im not even meant to tell you that Im in it (laughing). In fact, I might never work again now that Ive been talking to you. Im not in it for very long, lets put it that way.
What else do you have coming up?
Ive done a few indies. Ive done a movie called Chumscrubber. This is my year of being indie [king]. I did a movie called Tennis, Anyone? which is about the celebrity tennis world Im a big tennis player. Im just shooting a movie called Nine Lives, which is nine separate vignettes about women. Its an overlapping, sensitive, ensemble thing. Its just really, really beautiful. Each scene is one long 15 minute take without cutting. My scene is with Robin Wright-Penn so Im pretty excited about that.
How tough was that to film?
Its tough for the cameraman because hes holding a steadicam 15 minutes. For us, its like doing a mini-play. Its a joy. Weve got such incredible dialogue. Nothing explodes in it, nobody gets shot. Its all about people.
I loved your performance in "Passionada." Are we going to see you in another romantic comedy any time soon?
Thats very kind of you. I dont know if its a romantic comedy but Im in the beginning of the first of the season of The West Wing. We shot it last year. I dont know. If anyone asks me to be in one, Ill jump on it.
