Jared Padalecki will join Peter O'Toole for the movie The Christmas Cottage, based on the life of painter Thomas Kinkade. Padalecki will play Kinkade in the film which will be directed by Michael Campus (The Mack).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Padalecki will play the American painter in a series of films based on his famous paintings. Lionsgate hopes to release this first film of the franchise later this year.
Padalecki can currently be seen as one half of the demon-fighting brothers team on the TV series Supernatural. His last feature film was Cry Wolf, a horror flick featuring a group of teens who make up a story about a serial killer on the loose at their school.
